The opening hole is a lengthy par three which requires an accurate tee shot to get your round off to a good start. With out of bounds to the right and a bunker and water to the left it is not the easiests of starts.

The first hole can be played either as a par 3 or 4. A back tee lengthens the hole by approximately 100 yards and introduces a water hazard from the tee. There is also a small stream before the green encouraging the golfer to a conservative lay up from the tee and a reasonably easy approach shot in to the green. There will no doubt be many that try to take on the green with their first shot, the rewards may not warrant the risk !
